Entry Submission & Forms PDF Print E-mail

It's Crown Awards time again! Time for you to take advantage of this valuable asset to your membership in ICVM. The Crown Awards are designed to recognize excellence in production and content of films and videos that are created to reflect Christian values in a secular world.

The following file contains information you will need to submit your film(s) to the Crown Awards:
Entry Submission Form (Send this form in along with your film - one form per film, please).

- You may download the ENTRY SUBMISSION FORM here.

Nominations
Your company must be a 2010 member of ICVM in order to submit an entry. You may renew your membership online here. It is the producer's responsibility to nominate his or her own project, regardless of who is the distributor. Thus, a distributor who did not actually make the product cannot nominate a production. (This will avoid confusion over names, categories and other matters that are best left in the hands of the filmmakers themselves.) The exceptions to this rule are distributors who have either an exclusive deal on a particular film for the church market or invested more than 50% of ones budget.

Eligibility
Any member producer can nominate a film that has recently been officially released to the church. This includes producers all over the world who are working in the visual media in any way. A project can be nominated for any of the applicable categories. A "foreign film" may be submitted to any category that it fits, not just the International Film category.

Deadline
Submissions must be shipped no later than APRIL 1, 2010! No exceptions. Send your entries along with your registration(s) and a check for $75 to the following address:

Submissions
FORMATS: Six (6) DVD in NTSC format (all region or North America) copies of the title. In addition, we are requesting one copy of a 1 minute clip for each category. Please be sure that at least one DVD is NOT copy protected and marked as such. We need to pull clips for the winning entries and if they are copy-protected, we cannot do it. All entries become the sole property of ICVM and will NOT be returned.

Be sure to carefully review the qualifications for each category before you submit your production for that category. Some categories have special requirements that must be met to qualify for nomination in that category.

BEST SERIES Category: When a title is nominated for Best Series, only one tape from the series need be sent. This tape should be the one that you feel best exemplifies the content of the series.

Fees (new in 2010)
A completed registration form (one per title) must be submitted by mail to the address above, clearly showing each category applied for, along with a check in the amount of $75 for up to a limit of TWO categories. Make checks payable to ICVM.

Judging/Voting
The nominations will be submitted to a panel of five visual media professionals chosen by the Awards Committee. The judging panel decides the top three finalists in each category. If there are not enough qualified films, submitted by at least TWO different producers, in a particular category, the committee reserves the right to hold it over to the following year pending more entries.

The voting will be done on a scale of 1 to 10 in each of the categories shown on the nomination form. In 2010, producers have the opportunity to screen their ENTIRE project at the first annual ICVM Film Festival. The festival will run during the entire conference. Producers will need to sign up for a time slot on a first-come, first-serve basis beginning January 1, 2010. A list of time slots available is on the website.
