Prodigal Daughter started in 2015 when the prophecy God spoke over my life began to unfold. God had someone give me a word that I was going to write a book. The door was opened for me to write the book. In 2020, my life was crumbling. I had just lost my son and then my mother. I was on a prophetic call and a man named William said “Melissa, God says he is going to turn your book into a movie and many A-listers will be attached.”

In 2023, God opened the door for me. God showed me to call a company called From the Heart Productions. I obeyed and God opened the doors to having a great team of producers, and bringing on Harold Cronk, an Emmy-winning director best known for his work on Gods Not Dead. Since then, God has opened more doors, and even the connections to the A-list talent needed. The best part is that God has already used this film to touch lives. Five souls have been saved so far and the film is not even out yet. We have many people from Hollywood jumping into work on this project.

God calls us to go into the world and preach the Gospel. Revelation 12:11-13 says, “they overcame them by the blood of the lamb and the word of their testimony.” This is God’s story. This is my journey from death to life. Prodigal Daughter shows God’s supernatural power that transforms lives, and God’s grace and mercy on the lost. It also shows the prayers of a righteous man availeth much. My mom continued to pray and persevere, and her prayers were answered. This film also shows what happens when you choose to walk in obedience instead of disobedience to God. The Bible says in Ephesians, “we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities in high places.” This film shows what happens when Christians pray and know their identity in Christ.

Glory Films came into existence this year. I was reading my Bible one day and I was taken into a vision of a movie screen and on the screen were written the words. “Glory Films – God turning people’s mess into a message.” So I told God I would do it. He then sent a Christian lawyer who gave me amazing deal to help me get it up and running. I contacted Lion’s Den and now we are here. Glory Films, Soul Element Films and From the Heart have collaborated together to bring Prodigal Daughter to fruition.
